Why It's Been A Little Quiet On My Blog

Tuesday 24 September 2019

It's been a while since I've posted consistently on the blog and I wanted to do an update post to explain why it's been a little quiet on here. I've had quite a lot of things going on in the past few months and with only so many hours in the day, it's been hard trying to maintain a posting schedule. Working full time takes up a good chunk of my time and I was required to work additional hours for a while due to demands of my role which left me with even less time to get the other stuff done. This also left me feeling a lot more tired so even in my downtime, I didn't always have the energy or concentration to pick up the laptop and write a post. I didn't want to publish something I wasn't fully happy with just for the sake of having a post up and decided I'd rather wait until I felt pleased with what I'd be posting.

On a more positive note, some of my time has been used up planning my wedding which has been really exciting. Laura and I have been sorting quite a few different things for this and has given some nice things to be busy doing. Alongside this and now that we've been in our house for over a year we thought it was time for a sort and declutter of all the 'stuff' that we'd moved in with us. Apparently, we had more to go through than we first thought and have spent plenty of time packing bags for the charity shop. I've also been busy trying to tame the garden and removed a lot of old trees and bushes to create a useable outside space. In the past 6 months, my interest in photography has grown a lot and I've been working on improving my skills in this area. I've been visiting a number of places recently and have got a bunch of photos from these trips which I want to share on here, so I'll be posting some photo diary posts in the coming weeks while also working on some other content. I'm not setting myself targets for how often to post as I want to be realistic, but I just want to get back in the routine of publishing posts as regular as is possible.
